Walks with the Netjeru: Reclaiming the Sacred Within
Ancient wisdom, personal transformation, and the journey home to yourself
A Vision That Wasn’t Just a Vision
After one of my plant medicine ceremonies… Yes, I know, that line has become so overused it’s practically a meme at this point. But bear with me, because what happened after wasn’t just a cliché—it was the kind of truth that sneaks up on you and cracks you open, leaving you wondering how you ever lived without it. It was ancient, raw, and visceral, like walking into a memory that wasn’t yours but felt like home.
The Netjeru Appear: Love, Death, and Rebirth
In this vision, I wasn’t walking alone. The Netjeru—the ancient Egyptian gods and goddesses—were beside me: Isis, Sekhmet, Anubis, Ra, and Bastet. And Bastet, well, she wasted no time. She stood tall, regal, and with that air of a cat who owns the entire universe, she told me, “Queens are for mortals. Let me show you how goddesses should be loved.”
That one line flipped something in me...
The Gods and Their Teachings
Bastet: Love in Wholeness, Not Fractions
At the time, I was stumbling through the aftermath of a soul-crushing breakup, one of those that leaves you questioning everything about yourself—your worth, your light, your very essence. But Bastet wasn’t having it. She reminded me of the parts of myself I’d buried, the parts that screamed, “I deserve to be loved in fullness, not fractions.” And just like that, a door inside me opened, and I stepped into a new understanding of what it means to receive, demand, and embody love.
Anubis: Death, Rebirth, and Transformation
Anubis came next, offering a lesson in death and rebirth—not in the morbid sense, but in the profound realization that every version of me that has died made space for something greater to emerge. He showed me that I bring this energy into every space I hold: relationships, friendships, and even therapy. Parts of people’s old selves will fade away, making room for their new selves to rise. It’s a quiet power, but one I’ve come to embrace.
Sekhmet: The Sacred Power of Boundaries
Then there was Sekhmet, fiery and unyielding. She reminded me that boundaries aren’t just necessary—they’re sacred. She roared at me to stand tall, say no unapologetically, and own my anger as a force of protection, not destruction.
Isis: Strength in Softness, Power in Flow
And of course, Isis, with her grace, showed me the beauty in movement. She pulled me into dance—into a rhythm of life that’s fluid, nurturing, and deeply empathetic. She reminded me to embrace not just my softness, but also the strength within it.
Ra: Honoring the Cycles of Light and Dark
Finally, Ra stood as a beacon of light, a reminder that even the darkest nights give way to a new dawn. Every day is a chance to begin again, and there is power in honoring the cycles of endings and beginnings.
The Birth of Walks with the Netjeru
These gods didn’t just walk beside me; they helped me reclaim the parts of myself I had long silenced. Through their stories, I began to embrace my own—messy, imperfect, sacred.
And so, “Walks with the Netjeru” was born.
A Mystery Temple for Modern Seekers
This mystery temple is not just an idea—it’s an entity, one that bridges the ancient and the modern. Here, ancient wisdom and medicine intertwine with the best of modern practices, creating a space where healing and transformation can unfold in mystical and grounded ways. It’s a space where we honor the teachings of the gods, the rituals of the past, and the tools of the present, blending them into something wholly unique and deeply powerful.
Walking This Path Together
Offerings from Walks with the Netjeru will extend beyond borders—online and in-person experiences, held in sacred spaces around the world. It’s about creating a global community, one where we walk this journey together, embracing the sacred messiness of life, death, and everything in between.
So, here we are. Terrified? Maybe. Ready? Absolutely. Because walking with the gods isn’t about being fearless—it’s about being brave enough to take the first step.
